Michael Tkaczevski, class of 2016, is studying Journalism and International Politics at Ithaca College.

He has provided writing and research for Fairness & Accuracy In Reporting (FAIR), a news media watchdog, and been a staff writer and assistant news editor for The Ithacan, Ithaca College's award-winning independent student print and online newspaper.

He is interested in investigative news and U.S. and international politics. He has studied abroad in Kunming, China, where he studied environmental politics in China and Southeast Asia, and has spent three years learning Mandarin Chinese.

At the end of the 2012-'13 academic year, Michael and his colleague Jeremy Li earned The Ithacan's News Story of the Year Award for the "On Course For China" investigative series.

Michael has been a member of the Society of Professional Journalists since 2012.
